Hey there again to all who visit this little blog. As a musician, I was wondering which music group/person you feel can really reach into your soul and bring out the inner you with their songs or voice? Some of my favorites are: Meat Loaf, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Healey, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, and a whole host of others. So share with me who brings out the inner you please. Thanks from the little fella.... you can call Tiny.
Another poem about being on stage from a musicians view:
I travel to the place where we are booked tonight Set up my stuff on stage, what a fight!! the equipment is heavy and puts me in a strain and causes my body to be racked with pain from being out a few nights in a row I know it's a hard road to hoe The band gets everything set but I know I forgot something, wanna bet I finally crawl onto the stage where I transform and then to be reborn into another person that comes out from deep within and sing each song with a passion and a grin the band is right there with me, in time we get together at the end, on a dime we go through out sets, and sing our songs for our crowd no one complains if we a little loud cause then they can here us plain even though outside it might rain the lights go on, the sound is right the rythem is good and really tight we do this for only a short time it seems but we sing and dance in the light beams the crowd gives off an infectious energy from the dance floor from the front of the building to the back door soon we're on our last song to sing we rare back and let it ring then we pack up or gear and load up the truck and get wet in the rain like a duck we say our goodbyes to our crowd, our fans as they also get ready to go home in their vans yes, I've lived this life as you can tell and did every song without a yell then finally home and into bed for some sleep rest my weary body until the next time that we meet then when we meet again at this place I hope I can put a name to a face because this roadis mine you see just another little poem from the little fella named......Tiny. he he
Howdy to all of the people who read this blog. My questions is this, do you have a favorite song or songs that you know right from the opening note/lyrics and sing right along word for word? I can name a lot, but 1 that really gets to me is this opening line from a very memorable song, so see if you can name that song and maybe the artist. Here we go:
Baby we can talk all night but that ain't getting us no where.
OR can you name this one:
If you could read my mind love, what a tale my thoughts could tell.
or this one in particular and yes it's the original opening line to a famous song:
On a hot summer night, would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses.
Now share with me some of your favorite tunes and their lyrics. You can read at the bottom who the artist is and their song:
Two out of Three Ain't Bad by Meat Loaf
If you could read my mind by Gordon Lightfoot
and then You Took the Words Right out of My Mouth by Meat Loaf.
What is your defination of the word "passion"? What do you feel when you hear or say that word? Here is a poem on my thoughts: Passion is the flame that burns within causing the heart to skip again another beat or 2 or 3 and then feeling higher than a tree hearing birds chirp in the air and then comes a burning desire they both go hand in hand so to speak like a rusty hinge and a squeak one motion causes the other to react and then to add, not subtract the flame burns higher deep within hoping that love will begin again because out of the ashes of a lost flame will come something beautiful to begin again please keep this always in mind until I can think of another ryme passion is the heat from the fire and the flames we call desire
A poem from a musician about our life, or what it might be like.
I wake up in the afternoon, with a ring in my ear And a bottle on the table of warm beer Left over from the night before, I think When I finally got my last drink I get ready to go and put on the show tonight Hoping that there won't be a fight. I go up on the stage to do a check on sound my voice is shot, and sounds like a hound I tune my guitars and strum a few chords with a passion and the strings sing to me their reaction Finally, it's time for the show to start Oh look, there's some guy named Bart. I start off with fast song and then some slow ones going from Lynyrd Skynyrd to George Jones I sing for my crowd, my audience, my people, my fans weither they like to sit or stand I give each song my all, heart and soul while the bartender puts more pretzels into the bowl I sing and play with a passion and a fire raising the crowd up high is my hearts desire Too soon the show is over and I'm tired again But have to tear down my stuff and still wear a grin I pack up my stuff, and collect my dough yes this road is ruff and hard to hoe I finally crawl into my truck and head for home waiting for the next road to roam then to do this all over again and again and each time bear it with a grin but deep inside it's my drive and passioniate fire that makes each show my sole desire to be with the crowd, and to share with them a part of me, from deep within I know that this is my poem of me from a little fella you can call....Tiny
