Roses are red... Well, they are! But why do I feel like a "WUS" when I sit down to write a poem to a lady-friend of mine? Why am I self conscious of what she might think of me for being a guy that writes poems? Aren't a bunch of great poets in history MEN? Are other men worried about the same thing? How do you feel about this subject? How does this subject relate to the beauty inside of us?

If writing poetry comes naturally to you and you think the lady in question will appreciate it then just do it!

If you're doing it just because you think it will be a romantic gesture but it's not really you then find another way to express yourself that you are more comfortable with.

Anything that's genuine and heart felt is surely a good gesture/gift?

You only think that way cause your a guy.

Some men think that men who write poems must mean hes a "wus"
Not true.....
A girl thinks you have an amazing talent (lol if its good)

Some men think that a guy who just likes to spend a day with a girl watching the sun set means he must be also be a "wus"
Women think your romantic.

Some men think that if you don't kiss a girl on the first date then your a "wus"
Women appreciate it. It shows you have respect f  more...

I think it's a wonderful idea for anyone to write poetry, short stories, prose, thoughts - anything. Go for it as it shows your creative and communicative side. I am the first to admit that I am not nearly as appreciative as I should be but I do realize the effort and outpouring of one's thoughts and emotions.
